I’m a freelance journalist, writer, editor and storytelling strategist. I’m happy you’re here!

My journalism is mostly focused on social issues, particularly those affecting women and girls. I’m interested in exploring potential solutions to challenging societal problems, particularly through initiatives that seek to prevent harm before it occurs.

I sometimes turn my hand to more light-hearted pieces, too (such as this reflection on my obsession with writing down everything I buy, or this deep dive into millennial women’s obsession with Matisse). As an editor, I’ve worked across print, digital and email publications, including commissioning and sub-editing features.

One of my favourite things about journalism is providing a platform for untold stories. I’m interested in theories of narrative change and how this overlaps with ethical storytelling practises. Alongside my journalism career, I currently work in external affairs at Citizens Advice, developing the national charity’s approach to lived-experience storytelling across areas including media, brand, events and policy.

I spent much of my 20s working at Stylist magazine, where — as the publication’s first women’s editor — I spearheaded a campaign calling on the government to invest in preventing male violence against women. I was also deputy editor of Stylist’s flagship email newsletter.

I trained at City, University of London, where I gained an Distinction in Magazine Journalism (MA) in 2016.
